With a humanist and contemplative eye, Diego Imai finds in photography a way to reveal the dignity of everyday life, the beauty of small things and the extraordinary that so often goes unnoticed.

His relationship with photography was born from a fascination with nature and the wish to preserve moments. Contact with different cultures, communities and ways of living deepened his sensitivity and sparked a particular interest in human relationships, belonging, and realities that rarely receive the attention they deserve.

Between contemplation and documentary work, his photography seeks to awaken empathy, bring different perspectives closer and prompt reflection on what connects us, without ignoring the inequalities and contradictions that run through existence.
